Ron is not only thorough and knowledgeable, but with his "team approach" the inspections take less of our precious time. The report which includes pictures help to clearly show any problems and also help to convince sellers and listing agents the need for the repairs.

As I first time home buyer, I was nervous about what would turn up during the "routine" house inspection. As a young professional, running my own business, Ron was very accommodating to my schedule. When he arrived, he was very knowledgeable and efficient, but didn't rush through the process, taking time to answer my many questions. He went well above standard levels of service - giving me many tips on how I could make improvements to everyday thing to save costs and prevent future damage. The purpose of this letter is to cite the excellent service provided by Mr. Ron Roman, of HTI Home Inspections this past summer. Mr. Roman conducted a thorough inspection of the new Rockville house we purchased and moved into on September 28, 2007. The inspection report, complete with digital photographs documenting deficiencies, was thorough and proved to us on a timely basis.

Mr. Roman's observations and recommendations exceeded what we expected, and one recommendation, to have the radon level tested, turned out to be of critical importance. Even though the previous owners stated that they had a passive radon system in place, Mr. Roman indicated that we should have the radioactive gas level tested because many passive systems provide inadequate protection. We asked that he conduct the test, and the results revealed radon levels well in excess of the level the federal government considers to constitute a health hazard.

We immediately informed our real estate agent and the owners of the results, and subsequently agreed to divide the cost of having an active radon elimination system installed. A second recommendation is reducing the cost of our winter heating bill. During the inspection Mr. Roman showed us how we could close the vent which directed warm air into the basement, an area which we rarely use, during the fall-winter period to cut down on gas consumption.

In view of the fine service provided by Mr. Roman, I am pleased to recommend Mr. Roman and his company, HTI Home Inspections, for your consideration.
